HOW
DO I...
OBTAIN
A HOME VISIT?
If you are too ill to
attend the surgery and require a home visit, please telephone 770 4484 before
10.00am if possible. This will help the doctors to plan their visits for the day.
Please remember that a doctor can see up to six patients in surgery in the time
that it takes to make one house call. Patients can also be examined more thoroughly
in a surgery environment, so please keep house call requests for urgent matters
only. Visits are at the discretion of the doctor.
HOW
DO I...
OBTAIN
A REPEAT PRESCRIPTION?
Regular medication is normally prescribed at intervals of 28 days. We have a fully
computerised system, and do require at least 24 hours' notice to process your
prescription request. Should you wish your repeat prescription to be posted to
you, then please forward a written request and enclose a stamped addressed envelope.
PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS
WILL NOT BE TAKEN OVER THE TELEPHONE AS SERIOUS MISTAKES CAN HAPPEN IN THIS WAY.
Patients on long-term
therapy are regularly asked to visit the doctor to check on their medication.
HOW
DO I...
REGISTER
WITH THE PRACTICE?
The practice welcomes new patients
from within the practice area (click here to view). If
you wish to register with the practice all you need to do is attend the practice
with your medical card, if you have one. Don't worry if you haven't as we can
still register you. One of our receptionists will ask you to fill in some short
forms and book you for a registration medical.
When all this is done you
are classed as registered with the practice.
HOW
DO I...
MAKE
AN APPOINTMENT?
We operate an appointment system and appointments may be made by calling
at the reception desk or by telephone request. We do ask if our patients cannot
attend an appointment that they cancel it.
We see un-cancelled appointments
as a gross waste of surgery time; these appointments could be given to people
who really need them.
The practice DNA (did not attend) policy is available
from reception.
